This TikTok Hack Uses White Paint as a Base for a Beauty Filter Effect

another day, another beauty trick for TikTok. What would the platform be without them? Some tricks, like science-backed contour techniquego viral for their impressive results, while others go viral simply because the method seems so outlandish that viewers are forced to try it for themselves.

One such technique is to use a white primer, like you would use for Halloween, underneath the primer to create a flawless canvas. Basically, you paint your face completely white, Casper the Ghost style, and then apply your usual foundation, concealer, contour, and blush. the end result is supposed to make you look like you’re using the most flattering and stunning Instagram filter ever.

the technique has been popular for some time; It first went viral through a makeup artist. Mireya Rios, who saw another makeup artist demonstrating the technique and decided to give it a try. To start, Rios applies a super pale white base color all over her face with a brush, then applies “the darkest shade of foundation you have” over the white paint. At first, Ríos is skeptical, but after mixing and setting, there is no denying the final look.

Although so many layers may seem heavy or pasty, does produce some pretty surprising results.
