Generation Z has lately had an affinity for the millennial aesthetic. (See cloud skin and milk makeup.) However, one thing this generation seems to have their mind set on is lip glosses. While millennials tended to prefer a matte lip as a late-2010s makeup staple, you’ll probably see Gen Z in Tik Tok looking for lip glosses.
According Glossy, a recent report from Circana found that 70% of Gen Zers who wear makeup said they wear gloss, compared to 48% who said they wear lipstick. By contrast, the Circana report found that those preferences changed for other generations, with a higher percentage saying they wore lipstick and a lower percentage saying they wore lip gloss.
