Kaftanize translates the natural world into special occasion wear at Bombay Times Fashion Week

Womenswear brand Kaftanize brought shimmer and shine to the runway at Bombay Times Fashion Week. the brand’s new special occasion wear collection was titled ‘Iddhaa’ and was made by traditional Indian karigars.

This season, Kaftanize founders and designers Shilpa and Rahul Agarwal took inspiration from nature to create fusion-style ensembles in satins and sheer fabrics in jewel tones. the collection had a color palette of emerald green, chocolate brown and black with gold highlights and floral details.

Notable looks included a lehenga-style skirt and crop top with a flowing cape over the top and satin pants paired with sheer blouses. Actress Vidya Malavde closed the show in a gold ensemble that mixed geometric patterns with flowers, adorned with a crop top with sheer sleeves and a pair of flowy pants for a dramatic effect.

the Bombay Times Fashion Week took place from October 27 to 29 in Mumbai as an initiative of the Times Group. Powered by Streax Professional, the three-day program fashion Week featured runway shows from brands like Archana Kochhar, Riyaz Gangji, Chheda Jewelers, Kaftanize, Aari and Navyasa, among others, as well as student fashion exhibitions.

Kaftanize sells from its direct-to-customer e-commerce store and specializes in kaftans, loungewear and ethnic style clothing for women. the brand also launched a line of sleepwear, available online.
