This sled shoe has been designed by the BMW Group as part of its partnership with the German Bobsleigh, Luge and Skeleton Federation (BSD) as a futuristic solution for winter sports equipment.
the shoe’s design harnesses the power of 3D printing technology for the soles, which are strategically accented with spikes to provide the best traction on the ice. Spikes can be adjusted to shoe style and size for added comfort thanks to a specialized design based on athletic footwear.
Sled shoe design can be customized and manufactured on a much faster and greener scale thanks to the aforementioned 3D printed form. the soles are expected to be further refined before the Winter Olympics in February 2025.
