Disassembly Lab footwear has been conceptualized by Robin Luginbuhl as a sustainable sneaker style that prioritizes easy repair and eco-friendly design.
the shoe begins with an outsole accented on the sides by a series of nodes, which allow the upper to be held in place and secured with an elastic band rather than requiring glue. This aspect allows the shoe to be easily deconstructed to replace each component as needed, while also allowing the end user to customize the fit to their preferences.
Luginbuhl spoke at the shoe disassembly lab saying: “Products can no longer live on their own; they have to be conditioned to a new system if they want to be more responsible. Basically, disassembly extends the life of a shoe, making it repairable . , restorable, replaceable and recyclable.”
