This season I was obsessed with Rachel Scott’s Diotima. Most of the time I feel homesick and winter doesn’t help the situation. Scott’s “Fever Fall” 2024 collection reminds me a lot of the kind of woman I imagine I would be if I still lived in Miami at age 25 (but I definitely wasn’t the girl I was when I was there as a teenager, shopping mall hopping. and during the day and then to the beach late at night).
Scott said Fashion show‘s Laia García-Furtado that this collection followed 24 hours in the life of a woman that starts at 4am at a party and you’re a little undone. Then you go through the day, slowly put yourself back together, move on with your life, and end up at a party the next night.” It seemed like the most Miami type of life I could imagine, which attracted me to this collection. the pieces were fun, sexy and looked like something I’d want to wear while mysteriously dancing alongside my best friends at the underground nightclub hidden behind the popular taco joint in Wynwood.
I love how she paired knit dresses with fringe details and macrame skirts; he felt flirty and whimsical while still being grounded in reality and practicality. the collection felt completely honest to Scott’s creative vision for Diotima while also existing freely before the eyes of the viewer, which for me was the dream of my night in Miami Havana. — Aiyana Ismael, associate editor
