Sustainable footwear trading platforms: new balance 8

New Balance joins the growing trend of brands venturing into the resale market by introducing its exclusive resale website. As a result, the sportswear and lifestyle giant now allows American consumers to buy and sell used New Balance shoes through a platform powered by Archive Resale.

This initiative starts exclusively with used shoes, facilitating the exchange process by mail or in-store delivery. Consumers who opt-in will receive vouchers for eligible transactions, which they can apply toward future New Balance purchases.

In particular, the resale platform features used items and includes returns and imperfect shoes, extending the product life cycle and minimizing waste.

“We know that the footwear industry has a significant environmental impact, including too many products ending up in a landfill,” said John Stokes, Chief Sustainability Officer at New Balance. “There are a lot of things that have to change. the launch of Reconsidered is one part of the puzzle with the program’s goal to help extend the life of some of our products and make the most of what is already manufactured.”
