Emma Chamberlain talks about the second season of “How do you say beauty in French” and experimental makeup

TELEVISION: with the second season now available, can you share what the thought process was behind the story?

EC: the first season was very much about Lancôme and I becoming one, just getting to know each other. In the new season, I feel like I’m being introduced to my roots. We are here where the flowers are, where this house is in France. We’re digging a little deeper into the brand and sharing it with viewers.

TELEVISION: When it comes to your own beauty routine, do you like to take risks?

EC: I have a very specific routine that I do every day, practically when I go out to dinner with friends, have a drink, etc. It’s the same look almost always. I really play when there is a publisher. the-scenes” target=”_blank”>shootto Red carpetor a Fashion show. Those are the moments.

I’m very lucky to be able to attend those things to have an excuse to get dressed up and play. My makeup artists and clothing stylists: we play. We love taking risks. We bleached my eyebrows for fashion week and it was so much fun. It just gave us this huge canvas for crazy looks. There is nothing I won’t do anymore.

TELEVISION: In season one, you mentioned that you love lip products. Can you share your favorite lip routine/lip look?

EC: I love doing a matte lip with gloss on top. TO juicy tube in clear on a matte lip, with a top coat of pink gloss. I like deep pinky browns around the edge and something a little lighter in the middle. Kind of a 90s sensation.

For me, the number one priority is the lip. Have Lipstick in my bag that I use every day (shade 387). Every time I wear it, people say, “You look so happy.” And I say, “There’s something about the color!” Whatever lip I wear, whether it’s a combination of liner and whatever, or just a liner and gloss, it’s in my bag.

TELEVISION: What else do you keep in your makeup bag?

EC: If I’m sweaty or I’m going to be out all day, I like to bring some translucent powder. I also carry a mini Lancôme Lash Idol. I’ll bring a concealer. He serum one is amazing. It is super hydrating and pleasant.

TELEVISION: What is a beauty perception or practice that you think should be left aside?

EC: I think there’s a negative connotation about wearing makeup sometimes and what that means. If you want to cover a blemish, cover a blemish. There’s nothing wrong with that, but that’s not necessarily what it’s about. It’s about emphasizing what you love about yourself, being creative, enjoying the experience, and doing it for yourself in a way that makes you feel good. It’s not about covering things up. That’s not why people always wear makeup. People want to wear makeup for other reasons too: because it’s fun.
