First things first: no one can wear a Big Bird jacket and look as good as Rihanna. the singer put on a piece of writing that said: “Fun!” for the launch of it Fenty X Puma Creeper Phattysbut rather than veering into child-artist territory, she and her purple bomber seemed playful with a pop-punk edge.
Maybe it’s the lack of authentic street style that made us focus on her slightly extravagant outfit, but during an era where everything is curated or Photoshopped to the max, there’s still something exciting about the way Rih wears an ’80s style jacket (she’s also been wearing her Phattys with vintage Jean Paul Gaultier coats) and low-rise jeans (Agolde’s are a recent favorite) while looking decidedly like herself.

We’re under no illusions that the businesswoman’s stylist, Jahleel Weaver, created this look withthe same exacting approach as that one. Loewe red breastplate at the Super Bowl, but there is always room within her outfits for Rihanna to have fun. A touch of lilac eyeshadow here, a caramel earring there… Yesterday’s unconventional accent came in the form of rows of diamond chains dripping down her denim in a way that can perhaps best be described as Linkin Luxury park.
